All msdn product keys are invalid RRS feed

  • Question

  • I downloaded Windows Home Server 2011 from the MSDN (I have a VS2010 ultimate MSDN license).

During install, I got the latest updates online and when it got to the point where I have to type my product key, all 10 of my product keys were "invalid". I entered each of them numerous times and and then I even tried some random keys that I found online (I was very frustrated at that point) and none of the keys were valid.

As it is now, I'm stuck at the `Type your product key`page. Before I go through the painful hassle of calling support, is this a known problem at all? Is there a workaround?

  • Try leaving the product key blank and activating later.  You can install without the key.  Also uncheck the automatic activation block.  After setup is complete and you are satisfied you have a good install, then try activation.  If the product key is invalid, you should get a prompt for telephone activation.   That is the easiest way to get support for activation issues.

  • Unfortunately, we can't help you with MSDN issues. You're going to have to call MSDN support.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
