Bing Highlights in Safari OSX RRS feed

  • Question

  • I was using Bing extension on a daily basis but the translation service is no longer working "This service could not be reached. Please try again later."
    Any suggestions?

  • Hi -- I've just tried it and it seems to be working fine.

Do you have a specific site that it's failing on that I could try?

  • No specific site, on every site is the same. I have OSX 10.7.4 , Safari 5.1.7, no firewall and I've tried reinstalling the extension.

  • Hmmmm....tried it on 3 different Macs...all fine.

    Have you looked here:

    http://searchclient.live.net/BingHighlights/Support.html

    ?

And it's just translation that's failing? Can you see http://www.microsofttranslator.com/ in your browser?

  • Maybe this is the answer
"Which countries or regions are supported for Bing Highlights?
Bing Highlights currently supports only the United States, in English"
Perhaps Microsoft decided to block the service outside US.
At least http://www.microsofttranslator.com/ works for now

  • I am having this problem as well, and I'm in the US and www.microsofttranslator.com resolves fine. The mapping stuff works, when I highlight an address, but I can't seem to get any translations to work. I either get a blank result, or the error: "This service could not be reached. Please try again later."

I have Adblock installed, but disabling it had no effect.

I'm using Safari 6 as well as WebKit r125261(10/08/2012) on Mac OS 10.8
