WHS 2011 Launchpad cpu consumption Windows 8 RRS feed

    I don't think I checked when running Windows 7 Pro (64) but now with Windows 8 Pro (64), while debugging other issues, I noticed Launchpad.exe always using  5-12% of the cpu, and I have pretty powerful quad processor.  Makes no difference if the server is online, or not.  I have another Windows 7 64 PC and an XP Home PC on my network/server, and launchpad behaves 'normally' so this may be a Windows 8 versus WHS 2011 issue.  Any experience with this?  10% of a high end pc makes me worry about what it is doing.

    As Gary mentioned, please try to run Update Rollup 3 for Windows Home Server 2011 to see if it could resolve the current issue.

    I'm on Windows 8 64 bit and the Launchpad is open now with 0% utilization showing in Task Manager.  But still running UR3 (I have yet to update to Update Rollup 4.)

    I can confirm this issue.

    I am running Windows 8 Pro 64-Bit as client and WHS 2011 as server and on both systems I have installed the latest updates. On Windows 8 Launchpad.exe is causing a constant CPU usage. According to Process Explorer it is always at ~3%. I did not notice a CPU usage like this previously with Windows 7.
