Does the forum has the ability to track upvoting puppets?

  • Yes, 21 helpful posts, over and over again? That is pretty obvious. Thanks for reporting this, we'll take a look.

  • Hi Brent,

I suspect this user is also gaming the system although a little more subtly that the guy above. Every single post ever made has been marked as helpful.

  • Could be using 2nd accounts to just hunting for points in the forum or whatever.

  • Yes I suspect either a 2nd account or a friend doing the 'up marking'. It's hard to police I guess, maybe displaying the username of who voted as helpful either in tooltip form or as a link to a separate popup/page could deter this behaviour a little. It's just annoying for the hard working contributors who see a good percentage of their contributions go unmarked due to the original posters either not understanding or simply not bothering to mark as helpful or the answer.

  • Yes, I always thought of such an idea like showing who clicked  "Vote as Helpful". I also like the idea doing this with a 2nd window or popup because the same window would take to much space of that.

  • Well, some of the helpful votes are easily traceable

Although I don't think she was gaming the system, most likely all the helpful votes are genuine.

  • I'm not disputing her posts being genuine and helpful, but I think this last one gained 205 points in one thread. Is that right? maybe, but I think the moderator should mark everyone's contributions equally as enthusiastically.

  • I was thinking more Eurovision song contest (that won't mean anything to people on the other side of the Atlantic... basically eastern bloc countries always vote for each other). Anyway, no idea how you could stop that happening, I guess everyone needs to grab themselves a moderator buddy.
