CRM 4.0 Report error, The request failed with HTTP status 404 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've read another post (http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/crm/thread/c19688f2-752e-48e1-b5b1-11f2d2109b42), but I could not find the solution that worked for me.
Everything works fine in CRM except for reports. When I try to run reports I get this error: "The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found".
This started happening after SQL Server upgrade from 2005 to 2008.
I am aware that SQL Server 2008 no longer uses IIS to host reports.
I can access the reports through the reportserver url and report manager url, both on the SQL server and on the CRM server.
I've installed ssrsdataconnector, with rollup 8. The CRM server also has rollup 8 applied. I know that ssrsdataconnector is not needed to test the reports on the CRM server itself.
Whether I try to run the reports on the localhost in CRM server or on any workstation, I get the 404 error.
404 Error usually relates to a wrong URL or firewall, etc... and I feel I've checked everything.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you so much!

  • try runing the publishreports.exe. from the command line to re-publish your reports.
also check if your user has been added correctly to the gruops under the OU in AD

  • Hello Tiaan,
Thank you for answering my question.
I see publish XML config file in Reports folder, but where exactly is publishreports.exe located?
