I am running XP SP3. I have attempted installed Windows Defender and McAfee Security Center. When I go to start thye program I receive the following error: Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion. I've tried to start the programs in the Service window - same response and the Status remains blank.
