  • Receiving a fatal "Incorrect function" error during install of fix it center - FixitCenter_Run.exe. OS is Windows Vista 32 bit.

        Thank you for your interest in Microsoft Fix it Center (beta).  I'm sorry to hear that.  Could you please provide to me your Fix it center install event log informations? Please go to

                1. Control panel -> Administrative Tools -> Open Event Viewer

                2. Event Viewer -> Windows Logs -> Applications

        After you select this section and please note to source content, if you find any error or warning about "fix it center/matsvc" please provide to me.  Looking forwarding to your reply. Thanks.

  • Yan,  Thank for the info. I checked the events under Event Viewer -> Windows Logs -> Applications. However, I did not find and events for fix it center or matsv. Please advise.

  • The complete error msg in the error dialog is: An unexpected error has occurred. Setup can not continue. Please close and try again. Error: Incorrect Function. Hope this helps.

  • Thanks for your posted, could you please verify Powershell, MSXML6.0 and framework 3.5 or 4.0 has already installed on your OS.
