I have to update OCS 2007 server and cwa server. OCS 2007 front end server has Entrust ucc and the cwa server has verisign cert. Can i use the verisign cert with OCS 2007 Front server, or does it have to be certified Unified communcation certs????
As long as your Verisign certificate is configured correctly and meets the minimum requirements then it will work for CWA as it's basically an just IIS site using a certificate for standard SSL communications.Jeff Schertz, PointBridge | MVP | MCITP: Enterprise Messaging | MCTS: OCS
The certificate for a Front-End server should typically contain the server's FQDN as the Subject Name and then the sip domain names in the SAN field.Jeff Schertz, PointBridge | MVP | MCITP: Enterprise Messaging | MCTS: OCS
I did a complete install in the past using only an Entrust UC cert. You may get some validation errors because OCS responds with the server name from MWI not the requested host but if all done properly it should not prevent OCS from working.
