OCS Director - Standard vs Enterprise RRS feed

  • Question

  • The Edge Server deployment guide provides instructions on deploying OCS Directors on Standard & Enterprise edition.  My question is if I install an Enterprise Director (well, 2), can that pool reside on the same SQL server as my internal Enterprise pool?  Or does it need its own SQL server/instance?  I don't know if it's aware enough to see another pool and not step on it.

    Thanks for any feedback.

  • If you use a separate SQL instance then you should be fine

  • That's probably the safe answer...Was hoping not to have to set up another SQL instance.  :)

    Thanks for your help!

  • You defintely need a dedicated SQL instance for the second pool as the database names will be the same.  You can't install two different pool backend DBs into the same instance.
