Hi,
Adding into the team will be better and lesser error prone activity and then later if require to grant another field level security then the same team can be used.

For every Busienss Unit there is corresponding Team and Users added to Business Unit, automatically gets added to the Team !!!
This makes things very easy as I just have to User Teams in Fields Security Profile
Thanks

Hi,
If you have not added users to the Field Security Profile then the field value will not be visible to them and only users having System Administrator seucrity role will be able to see the field value.

Hi,
By default nobody will have access to read/write/create (except for the system administrator).
If you enable FLS in a field then you must make sure you create the appropriate FLS profiles and add the users/teams as necessary.

Thanks Jehanzeb and Gonzalo for confirming my understanding.
Now problem that I have is, I have 1000+ Users who needs "Read Only" access on Secured field, so I have to either add them to separate team or add them directly to FLS. This seems to be time consuming and error prone activity. Is there any way where I can say that Particular CRM Security Role will have Read Only access on FLS.
Thanks

Not really, FLS is independent from security roles. The way you can save some time is if you can identify which teams will cover the users you need. Note that every user belongs to a team by default so it might save you some time as opposed to adding each user separately.
You can also add multiple users/teams at once from the same view when you edit your FLS profile.
