  • We understand the inconvenience this may have caused you and want to get this issue resolved as quickly as possible. The Windows Genuine Advantage program is there to assist Windows consumers in identifying the validity of their Windows installation. This will allow you, as the consumer to ensure you received a Genuine copy of Windows when you paid for it.

In order to purchase a genuine copy of Windows, when you receive the Balloon Prompt in your system tray, use the Get Genuine link it provides you. It will provide you with all the options currently available to get genuine…

We would first recommend you return to the vendor from where you purchased Windows and ask them to assist you in resolving this issue. If you have paid for a Genuine copy of Windows you should receive a replacement from the vendor. When determining Genuine copies of windows you should be provided with the installation CD and a Certificate of Authenticity.

I'm sorry for the problems you're having,

Can you run this tool: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 and press "copy to clipboard" and paste the contents here? Sensitive information has been blocked out, so it will be okay to paste.

  • You can click the icon and purchase a genuine license Gregston :)

Or, if you right click on the icon, you can find more information on obtaining genuine Windows.

    Essence of LaLuna:

I'm sorry, the log text you gave us indicates that you do indeed have a counterfeit copy of Windows on you computer.

I recommend filing a counterfeit report about the current software you have on your system. http://www.microsoft.com/piracy/Reporting.mspx This will allow us to prevent known pirated software distributors from doing this to unsuspecting, legitimate users.

I know this isn't quite the answer you were looking for, but I hope this helps.
