tscon.exe interferes with pcAnywhere. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am currently using tsconn.exe in order to end a terminal service to another computer and auto log that computer back in.  However I also use pcAnywhere on these systems and on the host system over time of connecting and disconnecting I have found multiple instances of pcAnywhere opening on the host computer.  PcAnywhere keeps restarting its service and if it restarts during a remote session it will error out saying that it cannot be started during a remote session and kills the service.  Has anyone experienced anything like this?  Is there a solid work around.  Symantic says that it does not work well with other Terminal Services.  An RDP connection should be no problem for most software.  The work around on pcAnywhere's website is to stop the pcAnywhere service before using RDP then start the service again after you end the RDP session.  Seems like a brutal and unsafe method if you ask me.  Any thoughts or work arounds?  Is this something Microsoft knows about and can fix on their end?
