"This copy of Windows is not genuine" message in lower right corner of screen RRS feed

  • Question

  • I see other people have had the same issue, with this message appearing in the lower right corner of the screen today.

I purchased the laptop online from Dell approximately 2 years ago, and have never had to restore or reinstall Windows 7 at any point. The only recent changes I made were to install more RAM, set up an online back-up and connect a new Android phone.

    I enclose the diagnostic report:

  • Hi,

the message has now gone, so I'm guessing it was just an error.

    Thanks

This sounds like a race condition – possibly the result of an Antic-Virus program fighting with other security programs – what do you have installed?

  • Please download the latest MGADiag.exe that is hyperlinked & post the report again.

The MGADiag version that you are using is a very old version & is not giving the full report (Information is missing)

due to not being compatible with the OS.
