Synctoy 2.0 Overwrite action does not work properly RRS feed

  • Question

  • I use synctoy on Vista Home Premium x64 and my problem is that  all overwrite actions to an external harddisk get the status failled.

Does anyone know what create this problem and what I can do about it ?

The action is echo D: to L: (that is the harddisk)

The info under see errors is

    HRESULT 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED)

can you look at the log (File -> View Log) and see if there is anything that will help explain why it fails?

  • can you check if copying succeeds if you try to copy manually either through explorer or using a command window? or do you see this error only with synctoy?

i would also try to run synctoy elevated to see if this still happens.

    I found a solution

When you use synctoy for the first time there must be an equal situation between the source map on D: and the target map on L:

However the program is not perfect, files are not checked completly.

When I have a new file in D: with a higher Kbps and I have removed in D: the lower Kbps file in another root, the new file is create in L: but the lower Kbps file in another root is not removed from L:

I think the program does not look at the roots info.

I want to thank you for your interest in my problem.
