reinstalling antivirus will not accept login RRS feed

  • I have installed a new hard drive after my old one failed have reinstalled my operating system. I reinstalled my live one care antivirus it is not letting me associate it with my log in states my subscription is not available. I am assuming since I have a new hard drive it is recognizing this as a new computer what can I do to get this corrected.

  • I have seen this message a few times recently when reinstalling One Care. Usually after a few hours One Care activates without you having to take any action.

  • I got up this morning and still am finding the same message. the message reads (It looks like the Live ID entered is not associated with a One Care Subscription. To subscribe now or enter product key, click next.) I click next and enter my product key it then replys (The product key you entered is already in use). After that it advise me that if this is a reinstall to log out and log in again after doing that I am still reciving the same message. I click to report the problem there I go to a page that is not available. Any advise is greatly appreciated.

  • I assume that you have confirmed that the LiveID that you are using is indeed the correct LiveID for your subscription. Just in case you have not already confirmed that, I'll paste the standard reply for activation resulting in the message that you don't have a subscription.

     

     

    If you have an active subscription, which is what was created when you activated on the first computer, you need to use the same LiveID on the subsequent activations. You can't use the same key twice. If you are arriving at a screen to purchase or provide a token, you are likely not using the same LiveID as the subscription ID.

     

    If you don't recall the LiveID you used for your subscription, you will need to contact support who can provide that information to you using your Key and/or contact information.

    Alternatively, sign in at http://billing.microsoft.com with email addresses that you have set up as LiveIDs and one will show your subscription listed - that would the LiveID to use to activate with.
