Koolkat178,
The mgadiag repaort is showing that your installation of Vista basic on your HP computer is genuine.
The report also shows this:
OGA Data-->
Office Status: 102
Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 - 100 Genuine
Office status: 102 means that the installation of Office 2007 H&S on the computer is the 60-day trial version that was preinstalled on the computer by HP.
Note that the Product Key on the computer's Certificate of Authenticity is for the installed copy of Windows Vista Basic only. It is perfectly normal that this Product Key would not work with Office 2007 H&S.
Here's how the pre-intalled Office 2007 H&S trial works. When you first started the computer, and then first started Office 2007 H&S, you were instructed to activate the 60-day trial by entering a Product Key that was supplied by the computer manufacturer. For the next 60 days Office will run normally. When the 60 day trial is getting near the end, you will be reminded of that and will be "encouraged" to convert your trial of Office to a "perpetually licensed" copy by purchasing a perpertual Product Key from Microsoft online. You can also convert by purchasing a retail copy of the installed Ofice at your favorite store. If you choose not to convert, then Office will still run and will still open exisitng documents, bt it will not allow you to edit or print the documents.
