Server Reboots itself, no response from mouse and keyboard, not on network RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, Have a DIY server, has been running for over a year without problems.

Just this week it started having problems.

After not seeing it on the network, I hooked it to a monitor, KB and mouse.

It boots up, keyboard works for BIOS and whatnot.

After it gets to the log in screen, the mouse and KB do nothing,

    10 minutes later, it reboots.

Have tried remote desktop, could not connect, pings are unanswered.

All cables are tested, they work elsewhere.

Before I rip out drives and rebuild, what are my other choices?

Have tried 3 KBs (including the one I am using now - they work)

What next - before a rebuild?

  • Shut your server down, pull the drives one by one, and run chkdsk /r on each one on some other computer.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

  • Already hat the first one in a dock running, but only 11 more to go, might just pull them all an do a real good dusting and rebuild, copy the data over 1 at a time until it is all back up.

But have time to keep reading with a 12 drive setup.
