Support Request for my Windows program RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have developed a Bluetooth HID emulator (dubbed as 'across', http://www.acrosscenter.com) running in Windows and macOS. There were some reports of Lumia users that they are undergoing problems in using Across. Recently I've got a Lumia 640 and are testing it with Across. Generally Lumia 640 works well with Across except only one problem in Across for Windows. The problem is, Across can input the 'Screen on/off (Lock/Unlock)' multimedia key but it doesn't work for Across for Windows while it DOES work for Across for macOS. The logic of key generation is identical for both Windows and macOS and therefore it should work for Windows since it works for macOS.

Investigating the reason of discrepancy between Windows and macOS, I am guessing that MS mobile OS developers would have referred the previous version of Across. The previous version of Across used the "System Sleep" usage in the "Generic Desktop" page, but the current version of Across uses the "Power" usage in the "Consumer" page. The reason of usage assignment change is that the latter works for both iOS and Android. The latest version of Windows 10 Mobile is using the "System Sleep" usage in the "Generic Desktop" page for Across for Windows (I have confirmed it explicitly) and is using the "Power" usage in the "Consumer" page for Across for macOS. Then it works for Across for macOS but it doesn't for Across for Windows.

This discrepancy, I think, cannot occur unless Windows 10 Mobile differentiate Across between for Windows and macOS. Finally, what I want is that Windows 10 Mobile support either the "Power" usage in the "Consumer" page or both the "Power" usage in the "Consumer" page and the "System Sleep" usage in the "Generic Desktop" page, for the Screen on/off (Lock/Unlock) key.

    Thanks in advance!

    Regards,

    Seungjin Lee

  • Hello,

Unless this was moved from there, I'd ask in the Windows Mobile Development forum.

  • Hi Seungjin Lee,

Based on your description, I could not understand what you meant about “system sleep usage” and “power usage”. Are they your custom libraries?

I’m even not sure that if it’s a UWP development issue.

Please read the sticky posts, especially the Guide to posting: subject line tags and Known Issues for Windows 10 SDK and Tools

  • Hi Xavier Eoro,

The “system sleep usage” and “power usage" means the HID (Human Interface Devices) usage/usage page.

I was unable to find the right forum to report the issue. Would you please recommend the best forum?

    Thanks in advance.

Edit: This issue is about Windows Mobile OS itself and explicitly about Bluetooth input devices.

  • Hello Karl,

I did think so and then had posted the problem in the Windows Mobile Development forum. But, someone deleted my posting.
