Upgrading MCSE from 2000 to 2003 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I want to upgrade my MCSE from 2000 to 2008, last time when MS offered a quad exam to upgrade from 2000 to 2003, I passed that (4 exams), I never took any exam after that. Now I want to full upgrade to either 2003  or 2008 enterprises. How can I accomplish that in less time then going through the whole 2008 path?

  • If you passed the upgrade exams to 2003, then I presume that you have the MCSE 2003 certification. If that's the case, you can upgrade to an MCITP on Windows Server 2008. The full list of upgrade paths is here:

    http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/cert-windowsserver.aspx#tab4

For example, if you take exams 70-649 and 70-646 you would get the MCITP:Server Administrator. The 70-649 by itself will give you three MCTS certifications on Server 2008.
