  • Question

  • If I set up Remote Access should I also install some sort of AntiVirus program in the server?  Thanks.

  • Hard to say. If you have an infected client accessing the server, it may attempt to infect the server as well. But if the server is patched up and since the clients have limited rights on the server, the risk of a real incident can be considered low.
    Low does not equal zero.
If you wish to install a Antivirus software on your server, be aware, that it should be a special edition which is designed to run on Windows Home Server (i.e. the Avast package). Other virus scanners may not understand how drive extender works and may either not work properly or in worst case even affect the WHS functions.
