  • Hi,

Is there any change before this problem happened?

Such as Windows Update/new application/driver installation?

Choose one of the problematic Windows 10 clients, try to rename the folder SoftwareDistribution. Run the following commands, and press Enter after each command:
    Net stop wuauserv
    cd %systemroot%
    Ren SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
    Net start wuauserv

Check Windows update on the client and confirm the result.

If the problem persists, try to dis-connect and re-connect the client to WHS and check the result.

Remember to backup important data/system before any change.

    Best Regards,
    Eve Wang

  • I suppose its the same problem as we have. See https://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/a8495445-190c-40d6-8e9b-1eb2300bb351/alert-viewer-error?forum=whs2011

  • Did you try to resolve it through server dashboard already by updating the message list?
Otherwise you still have the option to configure the PCs to not show messages at all (unless your admin PC eventually).

    Hi Olaf,

yes, messages are resolved (normally until next day). Do you know how to configure that clients do not see that warning?

    Best regards

  • You can stop your W10 popping up messages or turn off the sound accompanying them in Settings, System, Notifications & actions, Windows Server Computer Launchpad.

This is really annoying and started with a W10 update a couple of weeks ago! It seems to appear every time client wakes up for a backup even if there are no updates available.

To disable all warnings for a client user open Launchpad and click the icon pointing down in the system menu of Launchpad. Click Settings in the listed menu and select, which messages you want to show (non, local, local/network), if you want Launchpad started/minimized at Windows Startup or not etc.
