Multiple backup drives RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have two small portable USB drives I use for backing up pictures, music and other stuff. I keep one 'off-site'. The other stays on-site and I update it frequently. Every so often I bring the offsite version home and also bring it up-to-date.

The question I have is how to best do this with SyncToy (2.0 beta). Can I create one folder pair and use it to contribute the master to the USB drive and then run it twice - once with each drive plugged in. Or do I need two folder pairs - one for each USB drive??? Or is there a better way to do this?

I read the SyncToy white paper where one use was to contribute the master to one external drive and then have another folder pair that synchronizes one external drive to another external drive. I kinda want to avoid that because the location makes it difficult to attach both drives at once.
