MacBookPro Vista Validation Issues RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have a Vista Enterprise in my MacBookPro. It runs fine from VMWare Fusion in OS/X but when I boot with Bootcamp, I get the 'An unauthorized change was made to Windows' message.

After a few seconds I see another one, this time telling me that 'You will no longer receive notifications, etc', with a 0xC004D301 error code saying that 'The security processor reported that the trusted data store was tampered'.

I got a similar issue some time ago, without the second warning, and was able to validate it using the company's KMS server. However, this time I keep getting the second error each time I try to run 'cscript slmgr.vbs'

When I run the 'Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool' I get

    Diagnostic Report (1.7.0110.1):

  • Hello Andres,

Thank you for visiting the Genuine Advantage forum. I see that your version of Windows Vista is a KMS Client. As you may know, KMS Client versions of Windows Vista are used by Large Companies, Universities, or Government Agencies to easily manage large numbers of Windows Vista installs within their organization.

KMS Clients activate by connecting to a KMS Server (i.e. KMS Clients do not connect to Microsoft to activate). I suggest contacting your organization’s Network Administrator or IT Department for assistance in connecting your KMS Client to their KMS Server.

Thank you for visiting the Genuine Advantage forum.
