VS2013 Dotfuscator is inserting a Virus? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a clean, up to date system, legit windows 7, MSE, and VS2013 Community Edition DLed straight from MS.  Everytime I run Dotfuscator on an EXE, it seems to install a virus, at least thats what VirusTotal says.  I've scanned the original and it doesn't have the same result...

Is this a false positive?  If it is I haven't been able to find anything about it online.  Has anyone else come across this?

    Result:

    Qihoo-360 HEUR/QVM03.0.Malware.Gen

  • Hi TeknoRapture01,

This forum is discuss Visual Studio WPF/SL Designer, Visual Studio Guidance Automation Toolkit, Developer Documentation and Help System, and Visual Studio Editor.

As far as I know, the antivirus software won't recognize our own exe (program) unless we add this programs trusted into the antivirus software.

And according to the result you provided, it is an antivirus software, not related to Dotfuscator and your Exe. Do you have installed other antivirus software on your computer? I thinks the result is because VirusTotal is not recognize the antivirus software you installed.

In addition, this problem is more related to Dotfuscator, which is provided by PreEmptive Solutions. I suggest you contact them from below link.
