How can I manually run a full CHKDSK? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've been having some trouble lately with my server.  It likes to randomly freeze once or twice a week.  The hard drive light is solid when this happens so I suspect that a drive is starting to fail, but I can't figure out how to check each disk individually.  I know that WHS runs chkdsk automatically each day, but apparently it must only be a basic check.  I manually ran a full chkdsk on C: and D: (chkdsk D: /r) using the drive letters and it found some consistency errors that it was able to fix.  No bad sectors were reported.

So, hopefully fixing the errors on the main system drive will solve the issue, but I would like to actually run a full chkdsk /r on the other 5 drives just to make sure.  Is there any way to do this without manually removing each drive and scanning them on another PC?  That (naturally) just makes me nervous.  ;-)
