Import downloaded credit card statement RRS feed

  • Question

  • When importing a downloaded credit card statement into Microsoft Money, credits come in as charges and charges come in as credits. How do I invert this?

  • Are you looking at the effects on the balance column?  The possible cure is to go to the account Settings/Details and change the OpeningBalance from a negative to a positive, assuming you owed money at that point.

It is normal for the numbers in the balance column to be in black. Under that column it would typically say "You Owe: $123.45" or some other positive number. The point is that for a credit card amount, the amount you owe is shown as a positive number, and if you were to have a credit balance (unusual for a credit card) then that would show as a negative number. This is opposite of a bank account.

If you are looking at whether the transaction amounts show up in the Charge or Credit columns, then the problem is something else.
