Problems activating a purchased Windows 7 Ultimate RRS feed

    I recently bought a Windows 7 Ultimate version in a local store. I read a lot about certain Product Keys/ID's being blocked or being MDSN. Since the 068 digit is in my Product ID, i suspect the worse.

    To be sure I ran the WGA Diagnostics, in the hope that someone here can confirm my fears....Thanks in advance!

    Just to add to the other's insights, MSDN product keys cannot be purchased in a store and they don't come in a retail box.  While MSDN subscriptions can be purchased at retail, the product keys are only obtained online as needed using the subscriber's account.  What has happened is that you have purchased a counterfeit copy of Windows.  The entire box and its contents were produced by counterfeiters in China.  There is simply no way an MSDN product key can be printed on a label affixed to card inside a genuine retail box.  The box is not genuine and you need to revisit the store and get your money back.

    Unfortunately, you have one of those pirated, not-for-resale MSDN subscription copies of Windows 7 Ultimate installed.  Return the software to the seller and demand a full refund.  You can purchase genuine Microsoft Windows 7 software from the Microsoft Store.

    Your Windows Key is from a not-for-resale MSDN account. You need to claim an immediate refund from the vendor - do NOT accept the offer of a new key.(all they are trying to do is to get past the 45-day claims window. or avoid you sending the evidence of their crimes to the authorities)

    The pirates have got VERY good at this over the past few years, as the price of equipment for manufacturing the packages drops, and as factories open in less well-policed countries.
