How Do I Return the Hostnames of All Computers on My Network? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to write a script that can add computers to my organization's domain en masse, and I'm struggling to come up with a way to pull the IP addresses and Hostnames of all computers on my network. Even if i could just get the IPs I could probably figure out a way to do this. It's important to be able to do this in PS though because I want to re-purpose my code as a network sweep tool to scan for unauthorized devices. My network includes multiple subnets as well, and I need to be able to scan everything if possible. I don't care if there are already tools out there that do a similar function, I'm doing this as a learning experience to challenge myself, and I have gotten stuck here. Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
