You could create a new Live ID with the email of your choosing. If you haven't used your existing Live ID for anything of value, then just stop using it and it'll go away over time.

I'll re-frame the question: Is it possible to change the email id in the username? However I was able to change the alert email in 'My Alerts' link. I think the email id in my username would be insignificant.

Yes on both. You can change your alerts email in your Settings. This makes your Live ID email only used when you sign in (nothing goes to that email).Second, you can actually switch your Live ID email. I'm pretty sure there's a process on the Live site for that, or you can send a request ticket to the team by clicking the Forums feedback link. Let me know if you want that. I wrote a TechNet Wiki topic about that process.
Thanks!

I think I have no other choice other than that after all. Thank you Jenkin for your kind reply.

Ed Price,
Thank you for your reply. It would be great if the user id also gets changed. Please go ahead and change it to the gmail id which I've used in the alerts.
