All three of the Office family programs installed on your HP computer have problems.

Office Pro 2003 is a Volume Licensing edition of Office 2003 not authorized for sale to individuals, and it was installed with a Volume Licensing Key that was generated by a pirating program known as a "key generator" or keygen for short.  In other words, the Volume Licensing Product Key used to install this copy of Office was made up by a pirating program that generates Product Keys that can unlock software; this Product Key was never an official Product Key issued by Microsoft.

Front Page and Visio are volume licensing installations of the titles, not the retail license software that you should have been sold.

If you are an individual consumer, you should never have been sold these Volume Licensing (VL) materials, and you certainly should not have received an Invalid Product Key.  You should have been sold Genuine retail licensed software.

Your first course of action is to confront your seller with this information and demand either a full refund or to receive the genuine software you paid for.

If the seller refuses to help, please file a piracy report at
www.microsoft.com/piracy.  Also, depending upon whether you received "high quality" counterfeit materials, you may qualify for the Office Complimentary Offer or for the Office Genuine Advantage discounted offer.  Please see the FAQ here:  http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/downloads/FAQ.aspx?displaylang=en#ID0EKNAC  If you think that you qualify for the Genuine Office Offer, apply for the Offer thru the Learn More Online link that the OGA Notifier is displaying.

If your use of these Volume Licensing editions of Office Professional 2003, Visio, and Front Page is in association with an organization that has Volume Licensing Agreements for these programs, then please contact the IT support staff of the organization for further assistance.

One other possibility is that at one time your computer did have a Genuine installation of these Office family programs installed, but for some reason they were replaced with the current installations which are nongenuine.  This could have happened if you took your computer to a repair shop and they reinstalled Windows and/or some or all of your programs.  You Get Genuine once again by uninstalling the current nongenuine installation of Office programs, and using your Genuine Microsoft hologrammed Office installation CDs, along with the genuine Product Keys found on your Office programs Certificates of Authenticity, to put back the genuine installation of Office, Visio, and Project you may have already had on the computer.

  • Hello valentini,

Office installations that are marked as Nongenuine gain a new menu item that when clicked describes the current status of Nongenuine and provides links and resources for correcting this Nongenuine status.

You will also see some "nag screens" when opening Office programs.

When marked as Nongenuine, Office does not lose any program functionality whatsoever.
