cannot activate Office (as expressed in Outlook) after MS "genuine advantage" update installed RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've tried  going to various MS suggested pages to find a solution, but couldn't figure out what to do. I bought an Office suite through Dell years ago. Oulook opens with my legal key displayed, but MS now won't let me open Outlook unless I choose "remind me later" to activate Office. If I understand the situation correctly, all of my Office components are already activated (they say so, in fact, when I click on "activate program" [or whatever the wording is]. Now I have to choose "remind me later" every time I want to open Outlook. It's an added step, a time-waster, and annoying as heck.

What can I do to override or bypass this "genuine advantage"?

I'm using XP Pro, and I think my version of Office is 2000 (but I'm not positive).

Thanks for  any help you can offer.
