Hi Daniel,
Microsoft has removed the links to review the RU 6, was online for a short period.
Will come out soon.

there was some mention of an outlook crm client issue in the comments of this blog post:

Thank you Nuno. Since everything else they've left online says it's tested, available and ready to roll, and they haven't said anything publicly (that I could find) about it being pulled, I wasn't sure if it'd been pulled or if they had propogation erros with their download servers. Appreciate you providing clarity on this so that I didn't waste the day looking for that which can't be found!

I am sure they will get it worked out Daniel. I heard a rumor from another MVP but I don't know if he heard what he did under NDA because I can't find it otherwise on the internet.
While I will admit that they could have done better at setting expectations, I am sure they will work it out and get it rolled out. Was there something in it specifically that you need badly that this is an issue?
The biggest issue in my mind is that I just want to make sure the word get's out in some way shape or form for the people who did succeed in downloading it as any uncaught issues could affect an implementation.
If you have more questions I would call support and inquire about it.

Thanks Jamie. I know they will too - like all things Microsoft, they eventually get it right. But I still think their lack of communications, when they are a huge, publicly-traded company, with billions in assets and resources makes the way they've handled this inexcusable. I have worked up in Redmond and know first hand just how much they have to work with.
I own a much smaller company, with significantly less resources than Microsoft does, and I know how hard we work to communicate with our customers and partners, and that if my staff handled something this way, it would not be acceptable. Evidently I just have higher standards and expectations of my organization than Microsoft does of themselves.
So perhaps by making some noise, SOMEONE there will wake up and simply update the K/B so that people aren't left to wonder, assume or waste time looking for a download that MS has stated "is available" when it is not.

Daniel,
I am total agreement. We download Roll up 6 and installed on a test server, thank god not on production first. It deleted data from PrincipalObjectAccess table and some other strange things. Now they have kept the KB article up with no information that there is something wrong with the roll up especially if people have already downloaded it. Maybe one of the insiders can tell us if the new version of roll up 6 on release will the compatibly with the original flawed version of Roll up 6 as it states we can't can roll back to 5 so we are running our sandbox on a flawed version.
It is ok Microsoft makes mistakes but they have to be better at handing and managing expectations.

Hello,
All of the download URLs for Update Rollup 6.0 seem to be dead. This includes the release KB article as well as the URLs in this thread and any search result URLs.
Does anyone have any news on what is happening with this release?

Is there any idea on what needs to be done to those who have already installed it as it cannot be uninstalled? We have a CRM online client that has applied the Outlook component to at least one machine.

Ok. I should of read the blog post properly.
"If you have installed them, please note that the issue appears to be related to Outlook Client sync and prepare to install a newer build when it is available."

Would someone from Microsoft please step up and COMMUNICATE and set expectations about when we SHOULD expect this rollup to be made avaialble?
Everyone BUT Microsoft has communicated here, and RU6 is still not available at any of the download URLs that MS has posted. Yet MS you have not posted ANYTHING to communicate what's going on, FIVE DAYS after you posted this KB which directs people to this download URL that still does not work. We've been experiencing problems that RU6 was supposed to address and would like an updated ETA communicated so that we can better manage end user expectations.
This KB *still* directs to a dead URL, as of 1/17/12: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2600640
As does this direct download URL: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=28712
As does this Windows Update URL: http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=2600640
Microsoft, you guys should be able to do better than this with as many people and resources as you have. You've dumped your support on your users in this forum and then you've just disappappeared. I don't think it's asking a lot to expect someone from MS to jump in once in a while and simply communicate with your customers and partners, is it?
