Had to reinstall one care and it says my correct password is not correct RRS feed

  • I have been trying to reinstall one care on my laptop for some time now and it says that my password (the one I used to get here) is not correct.  I had to do a system recover because of a virus that one care could not handle, and now it says my password is not correct though I have attempted to type it in over and over again. What is the problem and why is there no customer support number for this shoddy software? Is the reason because MS knows it sucks?

  • You are seeing the "incorrect password" message because the password you are using is not the password used to set up your One Care account.   • It is also possible that your password is longer than 8 characters, while it was shorter when you originally subscribed with that LiveID. If so, change it at http://account.live.com.

    If the message is that your ID or password are incorrect, then you are likely using the wrong LiveID for your OneCare subscription.

    In either case, if you are still unable to proceed, please contact support per the link Jim provided.
