  • Quite interesting.  I doubt that those of us spoiled with Microsoft Money will downgrade to Money in Excel though, unless Money no longer functions at some point.

  • Money in Excel will be of limited use unless it works in the standard version of Excel and can import Money files. I wish Microsoft would continue developing Microsoft Money.

  • I agree. I think it would be very hard, if not impossible, to achieve in Excel a functionality that is equivalent to what we already have available in Money Sunset.

  • MS Money, at least from 2000, is built on the Jet database engine.  Databases allow information to be queried relatively easily and the result is a 'Report'. It would be much more difficult to query and report if the information is held in a spreadsheet. In my opinion it is 'Reports' which make Money so valuable.
