  • Question

  • Hi All,

i have asked same question to Small Business Forum, anyone does not have an any idea for installing MS CRM 4 on SBS 2011. I want to ask this question to CRM professional.

    Here is our installation issue

    ----------------

Now i'm testing new SBS 2011 in our lab, learning new feature for our customers needs.

SBS 2011 & SQL 2008 R2 installation process complated without any error.

    And latest update are installed.

now i want to install MS CRM 4.0 on SBS 2011 box.

:) but i could not start MS CRM 4.0 setup (Run as admin), the message appears "Microsoft CRM 3.0 requires Windows Small Business Server 2003 with SP1. For additional details see logfile

    c:\users\..........\logs\crm40srvsetup.log"

Same log in logfile "ms crm 3.0 requires sbs 2003 with sp1......"

    ----------------

I Could not install CRM 4.0 on SBS 2011,

I have installed CRM 4.0 on SBS 2008 without any error many times.

is there an any trick for installation CRM 4.0 on SBS 2011 ?

  • I am trying to do this now, so far two things ...

I had to use compatibility mode to get it to install  setting it to Vista SP2

I have run into an inssue now that it requires the indexing service to be installed I have uninstalled the search service and intend to install the indexing service (since they cannot co-habitate)

I will update you on my progress as it happens.

  • Thanks for your reply

when i remove windows search service, shared folders and web site tab in sbs console get error "CLR20r3".

i have reinstall windows search service, sbs console running correctly. ( now i'm testing )

in this case we need to uninstall search service for installing indexing service.

now i'm trying to install CRM 4 compatibility mode.

  • yes i found the solution by myself.

there is not any installatin procedure Crm 4 on SBS 2011

if you want to use crm 4 on sbs network i can help you for this issue

    Follow this step

First you need to install SBS 2011 and install SQL 2008 R2 ( you must configure Windows firewall for SQL Server access.)

Apply all latest update from windows update.

do not remove any role first server.

After complated all update you need to install HYPER-V Role on sbs 2011 box.

i remember microsoft says SBS 2011 not supported hyper-v, newer mind, it's running correctly in our test environment

when you complate this task and create a new virtual machine and install Windows 2003 or Windows 2003 x64 on your HYPER-V, and configure your new server. and then join windows 2003 to sbs 2011 network with same account . ( not additional dc )

And next step do not update windows 2003, run CRM 4 setup and click check crm update in setup progress.

if crm 4 setup installed correctly you can update your server 2003

    take it ease

    i hope i help you.
