Cannot validate my Office Standard 2007 Military Appreciation Edition

Question
-
Hello MS
My copy of Office Standard 2007 Military Appreciation Edition will not validate.
Last year, I purchased a copy of Office Standard 2007 Military Appreciation Edition for my son's computer. I just set up a new computer and want to install it on this one. I would also like to install it on my wife's computer for a total of 3 computers in my household. This copy of the software was advertised by the military exchange system (AAFES) as a 3-User License for military households. We fit that critereon.
Please help me validate my 3-user license on additional installs.
Thanks!

Arthur5118,
. Please follow the steps outlined below as it could either resolve your issue or, if need be, provide us with additional information to determine the cause of this issue.
1. Ensure you log onto the computer experiencing the issue with “Administrator” rights.
2. Next we would like to confirm that you are running the most current version of the Genuine Advantage control on your computer. Please follow the below link and choose the “Validate Office” option.
http://www.microsoft.com/genuine
If the above steps did not resolve your issue lets continue with the steps below.
If you could also please follow the steps outlined below, the diagnostics Web Site will attempt to resolve the validation errors you are experiencing with Office.
http://www.microsoft.com/Genuine/diag/RunDiags.aspx?displayLang=en
Next follow the on-screen prompts to resolve the issue if any of the checks at the above site fail. If, after attempting to resolve the issue as per the instructions on the above site fails, please refer to the link below and run the MGA Diagnostics tool:
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012
You will be prompted to either “Run” or “Save” the tool. Choose to “Run” the tool and follow the on-screen prompts. You will receive an “Internet Explorer-Security Warning” dialog box for the “Windows Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool”; you must choose to “Run” this tool when prompted.
Once you are presented with the Diagnostics tool choose “Continue” to run the diagnostic report. If the “RESOLVE” button is available after running the diagnostics, please click “RESOLVE” to allow the diagnostic tool to attempt a repair.
1. After running the MGA Diagnostic tool, click on the “Windows” tab and then click on “Copy”.
2. Please return to this post and “Paste” the results here for additional review.

Arthur5118,
Which operating system are you using? If you are using Vista, please fllow the steps for office activation:
WINDOWS VISTA:
1) Click the START button.
2) Click ALL PROGRAMS.
3) Look at the list of your installed programs and find INTERNET EXPLORER.
4) Point the mouse cursor over top of INTERNET EXPLORER until it is highlighted and click the RIGHT-MOUSE button and choose “RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR” from the menu.
5) You will be prompted by a Windows Vista dialog box, and I want you to choose “ALLOW”. This will allow IE to start with administrator privileges.6) In the new Internet Explorer session, manually type or copy this URL http://www.microsoft.com/genuine (again, make sure it's the new instance of IE that opened as “Administrator”.
7) Once the /genuine web site loads in the new IE browser. Click the “VALIDATE OFFICE” button. What happened? Are the results different? Please re-post here should you need further assistance. Thank you.
If you are still not able to validate through the Internet,
1) Go to Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Activate Windows. (If for some reason the menu entry is missing: Start>Run, type oobe/msoobe.exe /a and click OK.)
2) Choose Activate Windows by Telephone and follow the prompts. If the automated telephone activation is not accepted, you will be offered the option to speak with a live activation representative. Choose that option.
3) The rep will ask a few questions for the purpose of confirming that you are still using your license for XP in accordance with the EULA. If so, the rep will issue an activation code for you to enter into the Activation Wizard.I hope this helps!

Thank you, Lori, and others who have tried helping. I don't know what happened, but the software activated and validated the next time I turned on my computer. If I have further troubles, your posts will be helpful.

Please clarify - are you having trouble "activating" or "validating"?Tuesday, May 27, 2008 12:15 AM

Not quite sure; I think "Validate." I installed the s/w just fine. I didn't try to see if it works, but it said it installed successfully. Then it suggested I do "Office Updates," which of course I did. After initiating that, it asked me to
run the validation tool, which told me I may not have a genuine version of MS Office.
I know my version is genuine. I bought it in the PX at Ramstein AB, Germany. I installed the original disk from the original box, no copies. It runs fine on my son's computer now.
Thanks for your help!
