Communicator Web Access, Archiving, Message History RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys,

I am only given access to CWA to use IM and presence with other colleagues. I noticed in the full version you can save conversations in conversation history in outlook.

If my company switches archiving on is there a similar setting that I can access from the browser to see my history and possibly search it?

If not, can it be done so that I can only get my own message history and is that a big development?

    Many Thanks

  • Enabling archiving isn't going to expose any new GUI settings for you to browse conversation history. I guess it's possible you could write some kind of web application that would read your history from the archiving server but it would probably be a bit of an undertaking.

It would be really sweet if future releases of OCS put that conversation history piece on the server side rather than client side. There's been quite a few conversations I've wished to look up only to remember they were done in CWA.
