Database Structure Updates with sync scopes provisioned RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have an application that I need to be able to update the database structure on.  For the initial version, I created a snapshot of a clean database (no sync scopes or database objects) using tools from RedGate.  On the workstation, I create the database from the snapshot then provision the sync scope.  The provisioning creates a bunch of other tables, triggers, stored procs, etc.  If I then create a new snapshot using the tools on a database with an updated structure, then run that snapshot on the workstation database, the sync scope gets messed up.  Is there any way I can drop the sync scope on the workstation database, run the snapshot to upgrade it, then re-provision the sync scope?  Or should I just provision my master database with the sync scope and use that to create the snapshot.

    Thanks,

  • Currently, dropping the tracking table needs to be done manually. You can manually drop the tables that are created as part of provisioning and reprovision your database.
