C# - How to start Process (open Hyperlink) on Workstation RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there,

i hope you can help me with a challenge. I'm writing a WHS Plugin, where i need to open a URL in the browser on the client PC.
I've seen this working for instance on the links "Further Information about windows error report" on settings dialog of WHS Console.

I hope you can provide me a simple code snippet or hint?

    Thanks,
    Thymos

  • okay, got it.

The trick is to use the IConsoleServices you get in ISettingsTab, it has a method .OpenUrl(string)

  • What's fun is that you can also open files by using this URI style: file://///myserver/myshare/somefile.ext
I'm using that "trick" in my WHS File Manager Add-In (http://blog.paks.no/2009/03/29/whs-file-manager-add-in/) to open files on local computer when
you doube-click in the WHS Add-In.
