  • Question

  • Hi MS,

Bought dell system from a local auction , the version of windows that was installed was not legal and i was getting the usual nag screens. I then realised that the windows number did not match that of the COA on the side of the system. After reading some posts i ran the KeyUpdateTool.exe and changed my key. Everything seems fine now as i can update my windows and have downloaded IE7. I have run the WGA Diag tools and several WGA Updates aswell , BUT (you knew that was coming) , I still get the nags screens when i log on telling me my windows is not genuine. I also get the little box when logging off....

I also recon that my office in not genuine either , but to be honest , i dont want to buy office 2003 as i know 2007 is being released soon and intend on buying that anyways.

  • Download and install: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=69498 , then restart your computer.

Also, your copy of Microsoft Office Professional is non-genuine (LegitResult =114). You'll need to uninstall it, then visit a nearby store that sells computer software and purchase a genuine version of Microsoft Office.

  • Please go to www.microsoft.com/genuine and click Validate Windows - that should resync the WGA Validation files.

Afterward, please click Start, then Run, then type in "WGAtray.exe /b" and click OK, then reboot.

  • Done as you suggested , validation says it was successful and ran the WGAtray.exe /b command , then reboot , but still receive the nag screens at logon , tells me my windows is not genuine and that this issue is still not resolved. I can wait 5 seconds and continue or resolve , although when i hit the resolve button simply takes me to my desktop , does NOT link me to any websites etc to resolve the problem !!!

    Please Help !!!!!!!!
