Remove Disk / Windows Update Reboot RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there!

I wanted to change my old harddisk into a new, larger one. So I started the remove-wizzard which told me it will take a bunge of time to go ahead.

In the meantime the homeserver installed the latest updates and asked to reboot - with a countdown from 15 minutes down to an automatical reboot.

I was glad that I`ve seen this, I was able to stop by clicking "reboot later". After a while the window appeared again and so I stayed a looong long time in front of the terminal taking care of no reboot during the removal.

so my question is: is there any saftly-lock included that the whs would stop the rebooting process by detecting a procedure which should not be interrupted any can cause data-damage and loss? did I waste my time in front of the terminal or can I be glad that I have seen this and was able to interrupt the rebooting request?
