  • If you bought it as a Key+download, then it's definitely counterfeit - MS is/was the ONLY source for such licenses (apart from possibly Dell and HP).

If you bought it as a physical package, then you may have other resources available to recover your money or part of it

  • Your Product Key appears to have been blocked by Microsoft.

From where did you purchase this license? - in what form?

If you have proof of purchase you should attempt Operator Activation and discuss your problem with the operator.

    telephone activation (operator calls)

    Click on the Start button

    in the Search box, type

    SLUI   4

    and hit the Enter key

follow the instructions, but when asked which service you require by the telephone ansafone, do NOT reply - this should force an operator to respond, who can deal with you

  • Thanks for your response Noel.

The license was purchased online through a non Microsoft source which I researched and could not find anything but positive reviews on.

I've even reviewed their feedback today and I'm not seeing anyone complaining.

I have already submitted a report to Microsoft through the web links but I'll follow up with a telephone call as you recommend.
