Forced validation error RRS feed

  • Question

  •

Out of the blue Windows forced its way through a SPY door and locked up my PC.

The validation error said mismatched files and no more contact from MS. Just as well.

Sorry, I'm a bit ticked. The last 2 hours were spent trying to figure iut what that meant.

I might well have had a bad copy of Office. It was supposed to be legit but, its the only

thing I could think to uninstall. Just requested a download of Windows defender with no

bad boy returns. System came right back with download buton. There was no indication

of passing validation but, neither did I get those warning screens I saw on your info page.

Hope I'm OK now. I'm out of school now and steadily migrating to Linux, and I already use

OpenOffice.org for my documents not MS O. I won't miss what I wasn't using. The only

reason I'm running Vista HB is that the OEM hard/soft-ware combo refuses to provide the

authorized back-up of system files to CD. Nothing but trouble from MS Windows.

Are you currently having an issue?  If so, would you  download and run the Genuine Diagnostics tool at this link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012. Click "Continue" click the Windows tab, click the "Copy" button, then paste the report into a response message in this thread.  Please also provide an actuall description of the issue you are seeing.

If you do not have access to the Start Button:

    1) Login to Vista and Click the option that brings up Internet Explorer.

    2) Type: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 into the browser address bar.

    3) A window will come up asking if you want to Run or Save, Select Run

    4) When the program runs, Click the Continue button, then click the Copy button.

    5) Return to this thread by Typing: http://forums.microsoft.com/Genuine/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2773731&SiteID=25 into the browser address bar.
