Good evening
I can not restore an asus EEEPC 1000h Series from disk restore system hp smart media, an error that occurred at the initialization of the system:A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer
If this is the first time you’ve seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again , follow these steps:
Check for viruses on your computer, remove any newly installed hard drive controllers.check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated.
Run check disk /F to check for hard drive corruption , and then restart computer
Technical information :
*** STOP : 0X0000007B (0X84803BAQ, 0XC0000034,0X00000000;0X000000000)
Some boby can help me please

Hi Pancho,
did you download the most current version of the Restore CD?
Stop error 0x0000007B is usually related to mass storage controller drivers.
You would need Windows Vista 32 Bit drivers for the storage controller. If this does not work, please check the FAQ How to restore a client PC, if the network connection does not work.

In addition to what Olaf said, did you copy the drivers from the Windows Home Server Drivers for Restore folder for that PC to a USB flash drive and use those during the restore process? Also, you could check the BIOS on your PC and try changing the setting on the SATA drives to IDE/Legacy mode.Sunday, March 15, 2009 11:36 PMModerator -
I tried the method of Olaf and the trick you just give me nothing, but made the same page to appear in blue
other thing ?

I think you are saying you get this error after what you believe to be a succesful retore of a backup? You click finish, then get this error when the system starts up?
Did you go into the BIOS and check.change the SATA setting?
Is this a new hard drive? Is it possible that your original install had a small (first) partition and booted from the second and your new drive only has one and you are trying to boot from a partition that is not there?
This is XP correct?

No this is not a new hard drive. Yes it is with WIN XP. In the bios the primary IDE master is AUTO. Where is the SATA option in the bios?
please help me

In this case, since you have restored to the same hardware, the system should not boot into the 0x7B bluescreen, as long as you did not change any settings in the Bios.
The FAQ How to solve boot problems after restoring a client disk may give you some more hints what to try in this situation. But if it comes to netbooks, these are often somewhat modified and not always follow the rules of a common PC.

Sometimes the Restore CD generates a blue screen when starting. Is this what you're experiencing? If so, as Olaf has pointed out, the specific error you're seeing is likely related to storage drivers. Since the Eee PC line doesn't have internal CD-ROMs, are you using an external USB CD-ROM? That could be the source of your problem.
As a practical matter, you should consider removing the drive from the Eee PC and performing the restore using some other computer joined to your server. You can run the program ClientRestoreWizard.exe (located in C:\Program Files\Windows Home Server) on that PC rather than booting with the Restore CD. It's the same restore functionality, just hosted in Windows rather than WinPE.

NO Olaf , I did not start my netBook with the Restore CD, I have the blue screen after boot it. I suppose it must be a software incompatibility between the CD version 1.0 HP mediaSmart restoration, and bios of the PC. Wish I could solve this problem. But how?
thanks

Yes indeed my EEEPC does not have a CD ROM and I use an external drive. My problem is that I do not have another PC with a SATA drive and the hard drive is an EeePC?

Hi,
if you have a secondary PC, you could try to get an SATA to USB connector cable or enclosure and attach the disk form the EeePC there. (I have no clue, how simple or complicated the removal of the disk in that machine is.)

Here's an example of several such devices. An alternative is to create a bootable USB flash drive with the Restore CD on it. There are various ways to accomplish this (you could try starting with some of the information on this web site and then move on to a Google search for "bootable usb drive"), and the process requires a fair degree of technical expertise. I really prefer removing the drive and connecting it to some other computer for most people. Opening up a PC is less likely to lead to frustration. :)

Hello
I created a Boot USB flash drive on which I copied the cd restore WHS RSO.
At the start of EEEpc boot the USB drive but then the WHS software restoration does not start. What is the manipulation that I do to start WHS from C:
thanks

Hi,
I'm sorry I didn't catch this earlier. Can you submit a bug for this on Connect?
We will need Bare Metal Restore logs:
To the root of a USB key add two files named:
"HomeServerPCRestore.log"
"HomeServerPCRestore_Update.log"
Restore looks for those files and will log to them when found.
Do a bare metal restore and attach the logs to the bug report.
Thank you

Thank you all for your help it has been valuable
Indeed, leaving the hard disk of the computer and using an adapter I was able to easily restore it from WHS.
I have two other problems with WHS.
1 using hibernation on my laptop, each time you start them when they are connected with the WHS connector, a first start after they put in standby, which forces me to restart it and return to enter my password. Is there a solution?
2 on my desktop computer I don’t have access the other mind than through Internet shared folders except the "public". I have access to the network printer, and the safeguard work. Again, is there a solution?
