Subscription renewal notice

Question
-
I received electronically my renewal notice for July 25th. When I go to download the new software, I get the message as displayed by others. When will I as a subscriber (and not a tester) be able to download. I believe I have until January as a six month free extension. I don't want my PC to be left without security????

The release of Microsoft Security Essentials is expected to be before the end of this year so you shouldn't be unprotected.

Thank you. From the electronic notification, MS implies that everyone is familiar with computers. Well, many seniors are not and I am one. I don't have a blackberry, I don't have a cellphone and about I know on the PC is the basic e mail and search features. To understand "Beta" etc is extremely difficult. MS has to do a better job of helping "the uneducated" RegardsSunday, July 12, 2009 5:10 PM

I've moved this discussion to the OneCare forums from the MSE forums.
Some time later this year OneCare will receive a minor update and Microsoft Security Essentials will become a released production product. At this time, MSE is being tested. When it is released, there will likely be messages to your email address regarding the process to switch from OneCare to MSE and I also expect that OneCare itself will present that information or direct you to the OneCare web site for more information.

Thank you for your responses. I try to stay with MS as much as I can. My experiences with Norton before OneCare is an experience I choose not to dwell on suffice to say I have converted most of my PC software to MS software and security. Didn't want to change.
