Invalid Key when Reinstalling Vista Business

Question
-
I was trying to load an older image of Vista Business via my ThinkVantage key but received an error that my key is invalid (tried retyping what's on the bottom of machine but that doesn't work either). I can only run in the black screen mode ("Windows Vista (TM) Build 6001 This copy of Windows is not genuine"). I also tried checking the windows validation (http://www.Microsoft.com/genuine) - it indicates "the service is unable to determine whether this copy of Windows Vista is genuine." 0xC004C533
I purchased this machine from Lenovo but no recovery cds (bad mistake).
Below is diagnostic report. Please advise! Thanks in advance.

"I purchased this machine from Lenovo but no recovery cds (bad mistake)."
All computers that come with Windows pre-installed are required to come with some way for the user to reinstall Windows. In the old days, that involved including a disk containing the Recovery Software. Now days, manufacturers save money by including the Recovery Software on the Hard Drive of the PC (i.e. no cds).
You can learn how to find/use the Recovery Software from the documentation that came with the PC or by contacting Lenovo. If while installing that image, you deleted the Recovery Software, most manufacturers offer replacment software, usually orderable thru thier website.
To resolve the issue without using the Recovery software, you may try the below steps. However, if they fail to resolved the issue, I recommend using the recovery software.
1) Open an Internet Browser window.
2) Type: %windir%\system32 into the browser address bar.
3) Find the file CMD.exe
4) Right-Click on CMD.exe and select 'Run as Administrator'
5) Type: net stop slsvc (it may ask you if you are sure, select yes)
6) Type: cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareLicensing
7) Type: rename tokens.dat tokens.bar
8) Type: cd %windir%\system32
9) Type: net start slsvc
10) Type: cscript slmgr.vbs -rilc (It may take a long time for this to complete, please be patient)
11) Restart your computer twice.
12) You may be required to enter the Product Key and/or Activate. Be sure to use the key listed on the sticker on the side or bottom of the PC and to Activate using the By Phone method.Thank you,

As far as I can tell, everything checks out in your report apart from the two error codes - 0xC004F02A and 0xC004C533The first is an Activation error code which usually means that the OS can't access the BIOS table properly. The second is one that have yet to see a satisfactory explanation for - and in the rare occasions I have seen it, it has been associated with hack tools to try and load a different manufacturer's copy of Windows onto a machine.(the 0xc004f012 error code pretty much just means that there's a problem)Lets deal with them one at a time - with any luck solving the one will also solve the other :)Unfortunately you've already tried to change the Product Key to the one on the CoA sticker on the machine (which I was about to suggest doing) - what was the EXACT error message you got? what is the Windows version and edition quoted on the sticker?--
