I recently had a Windows Genuine Advantage update and something extra? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Within 5 days I received a Windows Genuine Validation update and after that, my home page is redirected to the IE8 advertisement site. I hit home again and it goes to my normal home page. Seems that Microsoft has put a virus in my computer. I do not want IE8 as it interferes with my business software and industrial software.
How do I get rid of this nuisance? I tried chatting with Microsoft and they rudely hung up on me when I suggested that this is a Microsoft virus.
