CRM 2011 Pros/Cons: Upon qualification, transfer Lead's Connections to Account, Contact, and/or Opportunity RRS feed

  • Hi.

    What would be the pros and cons of having a Lead's connections being automatically transferred to the Account, Contact, and/or Opportunity the lead qualifies to?

    This is not CRM 2011 native behavior and maybe for a good reason.

    Would there be a major issue transferring those connections (besides redundancy of course)?

  • Hi,

    Perhaps the reason that it's not there automatically is that there would likely need to be a split of connections between contact, opportunity and account - also the connection on the lead would quite possibly be to other leads, and you'd likely want to qualify those as well, which would then require updating of the other connections.

    I don't think there are any specific pros/cons in a generic situation - you'd have to consider your specific solution and sales process.
