WHS OEM Hardware availability RRS feed

  • Question

  • So, WHS just RTM'd, and the blog states that hardware will be available 'in the fall'. While my beta hardware suffices, I'm really looking forward to putting one of those sleek boxes on a shelf somewhere. However, will this 'fall' release be US only, or worldwide?

  • We've been informed that we (www.tranquilpc.co.uk) shouldexpect to get hold of release OS by mid Aug (after formal release).  We hope this will signal the release of some of our finer (fan less) WHS appliances, we expect ALL OEMs to be in the same position

  • Do you expect the "real" WHS systems to be headless with WHS pre-loaded?If so, how do anticipate users upgrading the systems? Will upgrades be delivered via native WHS processes? Will the usual ports (video, sound, etc...) that are on the current T7 be removed as they are not needed by WHS?

  • Any idea when the e-sata product you mentioned in another thread might "show it's head"?

  • We will not be removing ports.  Although all aspects can be controlled via the Console or a Remote Desktop connection - we still feel that some users would still like to see 'ports' on the back.  Due to the design of the T7, we may decide to 'cover up' certain ports, which could be exposed by removal of the back plate (2x screws).

the product will be known as T7-HSA - and will be available in August.

  • Hi

the T2e-HS8 will be released in September - along with it's sister unit the T2MS8 (not exactly esata, but rather multilane sata)
