  • Hi,

Remote access is a feature of WHS, but they have no control of how the Vista Product Group choose to differentiate their own products.
As much as the WHS Team would like all versions of Clients to have this facility, their requests have always been turned down so I'm afraid you will either have to live with what there is, Or you could always go with a '3rd party' solution if it's important to you.

Windows Home Server features a remote access proxy service that enables you to remotely connect from the Server Login web page to any system in your Home Server network that supports remote access. As Windows XP Home Edition and Vista Home Premium do not have build-in support fro remote access (terminal services) you will not be able to connect remotely.

As Colin pointed out the problem lies in the fact that by design Vista Premium does not allow you a remote access feature.  Not through a standard terminal services client nor through Windows Home Server.
